Bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth when dental implants are not an option.
The bridge consists of two crowns that cap over two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are attached to pontics (artificial teeth), filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are highly durable and will last many years.
There are several types of bridges. You and Dr. Ginsburg will discuss the best options for your particular case.
Crowns (Caps)
If you’re self-conscious about your smile due to cracked, broken, decayed or worn teeth, we can bring back your healthy, natural-looking smile with crowns. A filling can restore a small defect in a tooth, but a crown is the most durable, strongest way to restore a tooth with extensive damage – front or back – for the long term. Modern materials allow for crowns to be very aesthetic and match your existing teeth.
Additional benefits of crowns are to correct bite problems, close spaces between teeth, or to change the angulation of teeth. Crowns can be used to replace missing teeth permanently, as part of a bridge, or over an implant.
Implants

When permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason or number of teeth, dental implants are an excellent option for tooth replacement. They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure, and aesthetically pleasing. After nearly 35 years of use, they have an over 95% success rate in appropriately chosen cases.
An implant is a special surgical grade titanium post, manufactured to highly precise specifications, under strict sterile conditions, that is inserted surgically into the jawbone. With the use of the newest anesthetics and medications, you need not be concerned about pain. As your bone integrates into the implant, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth are attached and shaped to match your mouth. The number of teeth being replaced will determine the best kind of restoration for you. Implants can help replace a single tooth, or a full set of teeth.
